Instudio Camera Room Part 9 + add

In My Camera Room I have 2 places with paper and canvas rolls, I love shooting against a plain background like this white one. Today I also want to show you a sample of how I like to advertise. Many experts believe in one image only and I can see why. Most of the time we do. The add shown today was ran as a full page in last issue of Utah Valley Magazine. I think the eyes really grabs you, I just love the big eyes full of expression which a more serious look or smaller smile usually give.

OK, back to the Camera Room here at InStudio Photographics. Today I'd like to show you one more use of the furniture set from Gatehouse No. 1 here in Orem. We have so many cool pillows that can be used to build up kids and create diagonals, fill in spaces etc. Think this shot gives a good natural home feeling for being in a studio.

My Camera Room Part 7

Yesterday I showed you an image with our nice expensive hardwood floor as background, so today I want to show you an image with a really cheap backdrop. I bought this fleece blanket at Ikea for about $4 on sale, bought it in 3 nice colors. In the studio I  clip them on to a trolley so I can quickly roll it in when I have a nice light set up. We also use fleece blankets a lot on location to create variation in no time, like in a street or park, and if your client get cold, you can keep them warm between shots.

It is fun to just use the floor as a background as in this Senior picture of Parker. Canon Eos 1Ds Mark III, 24-105mm f4.L @ 55mm. 1/80 sec. f10 Elinchrom flashes.
