I think this image speaks more then a thousand words.

Here is an oldie picture for you, shot on FILM!!! You remember those cool things you put in your camera? About a year ago I had a student telling me about his first camera and it was digital, I thought wooooow I'm getting old!

Today I want to talk about being ready for the moment! This image was photographed in my living room in Norway about 10 years ago. It is probably my all time favorite image of my kids together. When my friend and great Photographer Michael Gilbert was scanning this from my negative a few years ago I remember he said something wise: "He said you are lucky to have this." Yes sometimes special moments when everything comes together happens, this is a moment like that and I was lucky enough to be there and be able to catch it :-)

It is taken in direct sunlight though the window, the very last strikes of it. I only had a couple of minuttes of that great light, but I try to leave a camera around on AV and f.5 and 400ASA so it is a good chance to get something if I suddenly just need to shoot very fast. The process was pretty normal for me, first I see the good light, then I place the subject in it and click. It is no after effects on this, no vignetting, just natural and true.

It is so fun when brides come back later when they are pregnant, have kids etc. I photographed this image of Karissa when she was 8 months pregnant. It is such a special time in life. I like how this image is simple and graphic, framed right it will look very nice in a modern interior. Please all woman out there, understand that being pregnant is so beautiful, in Europe where I come from they feel more that way, here in the USA most woman seem to feel like they are just big. This all white image fits this day, it's been snowing and snowing so it's a white/white day :-)

Today's image is the feet of a set of sweet little twins. It was used on the front of their birth announcement. We love to use Imagenomics Portraiture on skin, it is such a great Photoshop plug-in. Light is 1 Elinchrom Midi Octa, photographed on our queen bed InStudio.

In My Camera Room I have 2 places with paper and canvas rolls, I love shooting against a plain background like this white one. Today I also want to show you a sample of how I like to advertise. Many experts believe in one image only and I can see why. Most of the time we do. The add shown today was ran as a full page in last issue of Utah Valley Magazine. I think the eyes really grabs you, I just love the big eyes full of expression which a more serious look or smaller smile usually give.
