Photographing People Part 3 went great!

This last Saturday we did our first Photographing People Part 3 and it was sooo nice to see the photographers put to use what they learned in Part 1 & 2. It was impressive to see their understanding of light! We first shot downtown SLC, then went out to the Great Salt Lake with Mr.GSL himself (Charles Uibel www.greatsaltlakephotos.com) as our guide. In this image you see a portable tungsten spot lighting up the brides face. I have used portable battery powered tungsten spots since 1981!!!!! It has been used in film forever and it was while working as the still photographer on a movie in Paris, France summer 1981 I discovered it and it sure changed my thinking.

This was a wonderful seminar that I would recommend to anyone wanting to strengthen their technical skills and to understand that lighting is EVERYTHING when creating a beautiful portrait. Kenneth is very technical and practical and both Kenneth and his wife MeriLyn are highly experienced and knowledgeable. And yes...this seminar is worth every penny!
